Luxembourg is about to become the first ever nation to make its public transport free for all. In the next year, all the fares on trains and buses will be lifted under the plans of the newly elected government, led by Xavier Bettel. Xavier was sworn as the Prime Minister of the country for the second time last Wednesday.
It may help in shifting away the public from traffic congestion caused by private cars. The issue is serious in Luxembourg City and its surrounding areas.
However, a proper decision is yet to be made. The government is still thinking about managing first and second class compartments in trains. It may allow the homeless people to move around the country during winters while staying warm by traveling via trains.
