Even though Kyle Rohrig knew to go on an 1100-mile hike would be a challenging task with his 8-year-old Shiba Inu, Katana, he completed it to bring back her confidence. Katana is a blind dog and it was a risky move to go on the Florida Trail with her.

Before losing her vision, Katan was an experienced hiker. However, glaucoma clouded her eye when they were in the middle of the 2,650-mile hike of the Pacific Crest Trail. The duo came back when she had her surgery and was cleared by vet.

At first, Katana was cautious about losing her vision and did nothing for straight two years. But, Rohrig and Katana, together started their trail on January 8 this year and completed the whole hike to regain the lost confidence.
