Back in 2015, a best friend duo of Casey Pearlman and Yasmin Idris in a brief conversation while talking about what religions they have in common during a car ride came out with something that went on to win Halloween that year.
In this story, Casey is Jewish whereas Yasmin is Muslim and thus, a new word was added in humanity’s dictionary: Juslim
Juslim, the word coined by Jeff, Casey’s dad was a combination of both religions and describes ideas and values that the people who follow these two religions share.
After their brief talk, the two 13-year old girls from California won the internet with their unique innovative costume idea by turning the previously coined word ‘Juslim’ into an original costume.
Meet ‘The Juslims‘, the two warriors who are going to fight intolerance together and establish peace in the world.
Casey’s mom Catherine was totally delighted with this incredible costume creation idea. She expressed her happiness by saying, “The delightful thing about their costume is that it was thoughtless.” She further added, “It was so authentic to the nature of who they are and their friendship.”
Casey’s father Jeff also shared a photo back then expressing his thoughts regarding what his daughter and Yasmin came up with during Halloween 2016.
My daughter is Jewish. Her best pal is Muslim. For Halloween they created a superhero team: The Juslims. I've rarely been more proud. Truly. pic.twitter.com/zqPCCwzshR

These two girls gave a breath of fresh air to many people who were already discouraged because of a divisive election season.
Upon asking Yasmin about how would she describe her relationship with Casey, Yasmin told Buzzfeed, “We’re a super team. Like, friends forever.”
